2.01 Introduction to Our Leadership Model

GoSendMe Global’s Leadership Model is to: Lead + Care + Develop = Serve.

Far too many workshops, conferences, sermons, and books have been written on how to develop great leaders, but it is difficult to find the same on how to be great SERVANTS!

Read the following passages: Luke 17:7-10 AND Matthew 20:25-28

LEAD: You have the role.  Now be faithful to actually fulfill it. Prayerfully give direction, define measurable success, and cast vision.  Set the right example for others to follow in your servant spirit, work ethic, and dedication to the long term goals and objectives set for your team. Follow (Response): How are you letting the leader lead and being supportive, even if you have other ideas? How receptive are you to being given directives, having the purpose of your role defined for you, and to an “all-in” spirit to the leader’s long-term vision? How are you praying for your leaders?

DEVELOP: Leaders are to equip others for their works of service. Provide training opportunities that take people further in their individual and team roles. Deepen your understanding of what is required for your team to accomplish their tasks and release each part of the team to freely present and attempt ideas for improvement to processes. Learn (Response): How well are you living in a humble posture of learning, growing, and developing? How are you seeking and taking opportunities for self-improvement, recognizing that it is a major part in the success of the whole team? How well are you listening to the ideas of others and letting the team work together?

CARE: Leaders should be like Christ in holistically caring for team members. Take time to listen and understand your team’s welfare by making time to meet, ask open-ended questions, & pray with them. Recognize struggles and celebrate a team member’s uniqueness and contributions toward common goals. Respond (Response): How well are you letting your leadership and team care for you, and reciprocating? How are you balancing your personal or family life with your role on the team? How willing are you to make personal changes, be vulnerable to other’s insights, and even seek outside assistance in pursuit of a healthier life? SERVE: All believers should set an example as servant-leaders, after the manner of Christ. Take the time to come alongside those you lead and those who lead you to accomplish Kingdom work together as one. Work alongside others with humility, demonstrating that leadership does not elevate above any menial task, and through love, serve one another, recognizing that you are indeed serving Christ.
